This is the official video biography of Ayrton Senna da Silva, the first comprehensive look at one of the greatest drivers of all time.
The triple Formula One World Champion started his racing in a kart built by his father. Archive footage covers from his earliest days to becoming the South American Champion.
Those who only saw the driver, his natural Latin warmth and passion were often obscured by shyness, the politics of Formula One, and the need to be controlled. Few people outside F1 really understood Senna, but McLaren team manager Ron Dennis, Niki Lauda and Jackie Stewart were just a few of his associates and friends who add to our knowledged of the man.
We also see Ayrton at leisure back home in Brazil and hear how he determinedly put himself through an intensive training programme so he could withstand the extreme loads of modern F1 cars, and exert total control over his mind an body.
On the track, he aimed to become one with the car and it was all focus, analysis, calculation and control. Senna's mastery of his art can be seen in footage from many of his most memorable races including Portugal 1985, Monaco 1988, Japan 1989, and Brazil 1991.
Few people who have 'racing in their blood' have ever left such a legacy as Ayrton Senna.
