Lola: Can-Am and Endurance Race Cars
Item #L46X - Sold out
American V-8 power in small, light sports cars was an old trick in the United States by 1960. But it took enterprising British race car designer Eric Broadley to see its full potential by placing a Ford V-8 in the rear of a lovely GT coupe. Broadley's Lola Mk.6 GT stunned the racing community on its 1963 introduction, its handsome profile, light weight, and compact size suggesting the successes that lie ahead.

This exceptional photo-history covers Lola from the Mk.6 GT's 1963 introduction through 1974, the end of the original Can-Am series. Fantastic period photography by autor Dave Friedman and other motorsports photographers accompany a text peppered with the observations of the men who drove, prepared, and owned these wonderful race cars including, John Surtees, Peter Revson, Frank Lance, John Mecom, Augie Pabst, and more.
